Testimonials of Hypnobirthing:(This mom got a chance to take the HypnoBirthing Class but her daughter did not. Her daughter was the one who was pregnant.)Dear Sheri, I was so worried that he would be born before Danelle's last day of work, before she was fully moved into their new house but most especially before I had a chance to sit down with her when she had the time to try and teach her the principals of Hypnobirthing and the breathing and relaxation techniques. As a mother we never want to see our children in pain or suffering. I was willing to do anything to make it the best possible experience possible. Thanks to you and your class. I can't even imagine how different it could have turned out! Danelle started labor Sunday afternoon and Crew was born at 5:48 on Tuesday. It was a very long and drawn out process but through out the whole labor she stayed in a relaxed state and took the prompts amazingly!! Never did she lose control or panic because she stayed so relaxed. It truly was one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had! I wanted to be there and support her and her husband but without the hypnobirthing classes and doula training, I would have felt so clueless and Helpless! Even as her doula it would NOT have been the wonderful experience that it was without your class. She could never have lasted so long doing the Lamaze breathing because she was so tired. Her husband also said he never could have made it without the help and support. None of us had much sleep but at least we could take turns and I slept for 3 hours and then he slept for a few hours. For two days afterwards and as tired and sore as I was I could not sleep or get it out of my head how it WORKED and how grateful I was that I had found out about your class in time. We would love to come to a testimony meeting especially if any of the mom's that took the class I was in will be there! Thank you! Thank you! Hi Sheri, We had Anna Sabine Reynolds at home on Sept 19 at 11:58 am. (She was 9 lbs 12 oz) It was wonderful, Drew and I are singing Hypnobirthing praise to everyone we know. I had given myself the suggestion that I would not feel "surges" until I was dilated to 7, well, Thursday morning I started having very mild crampy feelings and called Andrea (my Midwife) at 6:30 am, Sandra (her assistant) got here by 8:30 and checked me and sure enough I was at 7, without even breaking a sweat. Drew got the room ready and the pool filled and by about 10 or 10:30 I was at 10 already. The contractions were always tolerable, it was incredible. Drew was a great partner. It was awesome. Drew was so impressed by Hypnobirthing, you should hear him talk. Abby Reynolds
Hi Sheri, I attended your hypnobirthing class with Yenny and Maureen Ng on Saturday. I was completely amazed at what I learned. I look forward to taking your class with my husband for our next birth. Tracy Kuramoto Christine Henry's Birth Story Then at 3pm I had a massage appointment with Elien. So, I got to the appointment and told Elien (who is also my doula) how I was doing that day. I told her that I wasn’t feeling the best and that my lower back was a little sore. So, during the massage, she concentrated on my lower back and hips and she really relaxed and loosened me up. On the massage table I thought I had felt some surges, but I only mentioned them to Elien after the massage, she told me to take it easy and to call her on her cell if it progressed. I went home and around 5:30pm or so called my Mom. I asked her if her water ever broke before she went into labor or went to the hospital and she told me of her seven kids (I’m the youngest), her water never broke before getting to the hospital. I then told her how I was feeling and she said that I was in labor, of course I was still a little skeptical. At that time, I had to get ready for teaching bible study at church, usually it’s both my husband and I that teach, but I wasn’t up to it that night so, I just sent my husband and told him that I wasn’t feeling the best (not that I was in labor). Well, when my husband told Kim, a friend at church, about how I was feeling, she came over to be with me (it was around 6:45pm). She timed my surges at 5 minutes apart. I asked Kim to read me some hypnobirthing scripts since she was aware of how I wanted to have the baby. So, she read the scripts and they really helped me to relax both during and between the surges. As I relaxed, my surges went down to 4 minutes apart and Kim told me that we should call the doctor, so we got the number and Kim called. The doctor told me to go to the hospital to see how far I was dilated. Well, my husband wasn’t even home yet so we had to wait for him. We decided to call Elien and tell her that we would be going to the hospital soon. So, we did more scripts and my surges went down to 3 minutes apart. It was 8-8:15pm by that time and my husband finally got back home. My husband packed up the car and we were off to the hospital. I remember him saying something like, “oh this is all just a false alarm, I bet we’ll be back home soon.” Boy, was he wrong. :-) We got to the hospital around 8:30pm or so. We checked in and they put me into a temporary room, just to check and see how far I was dilated. I made sure that they had my birth plan and they understood about wanting a natural birth. My husband read some scripts to me to keep me relaxed and to help me thru the surges. Well, it turned out that I was 5cm dilated right off the bat. Around that time Elien showed up with her assistant, Julia. We were then moved into a birthing room. The nurse checked me again and I was 7cm dilated. Elien helped me stay relaxed with breathing and relaxation techniques. Around 9:30pm or so, I had to go to the bathroom and my water broke in the toilet. The surges continued along with breathing and self hypnosis. Around 10pm or so, the checked me again and I was 9 cm dilated. Elien asked me to sit on the birthing ball and I placed my head in my husbands lap. She then started with the rose visualization technique to get the final cm. By 10:30pm, I was 10cm and ready to push. I kept saying that I had to go #2, it felt like that to me - bearing down to have a BM. It took an hour of pushing before little Logan was born. He weighed in at 7 lbs 8oz and 20.5 inches long. We checked out of the hospital on Friday, Oct 11th, and both baby and Mom are doing great and we are proud to say that no pain medicine was used throughout the stay at the hospital. :-) ____________________________________________________ Would you like to see the baby gallery of babies born with HypnoBirthing. This is only about 30 of the 400 babies born but after a while I got too busy to keep up the webpage with pictures.
